Carlisle Hats began 16 years ago in St Kilda East and is run by Leanne and her husband Tibor, both makers and creatives in the hat business.

These Fedoras use a traditional weight 120g Australian Merino wool felt with a soft cotton inner sweatband. The outer ribbon is a Japanese grosgrain and finished with a leather slipknot detail. The brim width is 8cm and you may flick the brim up or down.

These hats have been specifically made for Wootten and can take a week to produce these beauties.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD

Take a tape measure, or you can use a piece of non-stretch string and then measure that afterwards. Wrap the tape around the circumference of your head; above the ears and across the middle of the forehead, roughly where you would comfortably sit a hat. Make sure it is not too tight or your hat will give you a migraine! It is better to be too big than too small because you can always add a piece of foam under the sweatband to bulk it up. Record the measurement in cm’s and compare to the size chart above for your standard size.
