Lo-Dubs Wootten x Sherrin Collaboration Sneaker
Details:
Introducing the Lo-Dubs Wootten x Sherrin Sneaker. Crafted with passion in the heart of Ballarat, these sneakers are a testament to our 50-year legacy of excellence in leather craftsmanship and Sherrin's 150-year history in making footballs.
We have coordinated with Sherrin and gathered together enough balls to make 50 pairs this year. This first limited release will be Batch 1, with a second batch kicking off next year. We will aim to have Batch 2 completed by the start of the footy season in March 2027.
Batch 1: OPEN FOR ORDERS due for completion by end of 2026 Batch 2: COMING SOON due for completion by March 2027 Batch 3: TO BE DETERMINED (Sherrin has given us permission to make a total of 150 pairs, the final form of Batch 3 and date of release TBC)
Each pair will be numbered (Batch 1: 1-50, Batch 2: 51-100, etc) and supplied with a certificate of authenticity, which will be signed and numbered. They will also be supplied with two pairs of shoelaces, one waxed cotton as pictured and one made from the lacing used to make the footballs.
Some history on why on earth we did this: Some 30 years ago, we made athletic shoes under licence for Adidas and Sidi, catering for the likes of Gary Ablett Snr, Robert Harvey, Shane Crawford and Stephen Silvagni (just to name a few). So it made sense when considering making a repairable sneaker, that we look backwards to move forwards. We have taken inspiration from these early athletic shoe designs to produce our take on what "modern" sneakers should be.
Using footballs that would have otherwise been sent to landfill, and combined with other locally tanned bovine leather, one pair uses a single football in its creation. Its unique repairable sole design ensures that you can tread lightly on the earth, while keeping your sneakers in prime condition for years to come.
The sleek silhouette is accentuated by distinctive side stripes and contrast stitching featuring our Wootten ‘W’ motif (the dubs).
Upper Locally tanned bovine upper and mudguards (in the form of a football and trim) with natural veg-tan kangaroo accents and contrasting stitching. Uniquely, the Sherrin collab features the fabric reinforcing from the inside of the football as the lining of the sneakers. The stripes and stitching of the "W" (the dubs) on the sides creates further reinforcing. The stiffner used in the heel is 3mm veg-tan leather and hand-lasted, just like we make our boots.
Eyelets: Antique brass large eyelets
Sole: Mechanically fastened insole via a Blake stitched midsole with a white Gloxicut wedge sole
Innersole: The structural insole of the sneaker is 4.5mm veg tan leather stitched to the midsole. The Lo-Dubs are also finished with a removable 3mm thick innersole which is covered in leather
Laces: Handmade cream flat waxed cotton laces
Please note this Limited Edition sneaker is not exchangeable or refundable. All sales are final so please consult the size guide carefully when making your purchase.
Fitting Guide:
Pictured is a size 10 AU Sneaker. Please note the placement of the logo will differ on different sizes.
Our sizing is listed in AU (Australian). US sizing tends to be a full size up numerically than your AU sizing. So if you wear a size 10 US, you're typically a 9 in AU. As these sneakers are made to order and not refundable/exchangeable, it would be best to consult the Size Chart via the link below rather than quote sizes from other shoes to get the right sizing. If you need help, please email us at workshop @ wootten.com.au . The leather used in the upper of these is quite thick and canvas-backed (being made for a football), so they tend to fit firmly. So if you're halfway between sizes, we would recommend sizing up the half size.
Made on our KOS sneaker last in an E fitting. This is a unisex last noted in men's AU sizing. Sizing typically tends to be pretty true to size and similar to our dress shoe last, like our Cambridge last. A key measurement for finding the right size is the length and ball in this style. Please consult the size guide for how to take these measurements. The Lo-Dubs Sneakers come with a removeable innersole to offer more depth when left out.
Ladies sizing tends to be roughly two sizes bigger numerically than mens. So if you're normally a size 9 AU ladies, you're typically going to be a size 7 AU mens. Please note the difference between AU/UK and US sizing, as outlined above.
