Introducing the Smith Q‑Jumper Boot in Cocoa.
The Q‑Jumper range is designed for those who love our Ready‑To‑Wear Originals but fall outside the standard AU unisex 5–11.5 sizing. If you want an Original‑style boot without waiting for Heritage lead times, this is your faster pathway.
Q‑Jumpers are still made‑to‑order, but because they share the same limited options as our Originals, they move through production more quickly. They’re added to the same racks as Originals, with an estimated turnaround of 6–10 weeks, depending on demand.
They aren’t in stock, but they do get you your boots sooner.
This wholecut Gusset boot is made from one piece of locally tanned Victorian bovine leather. This thick yet supple leather makes for a durable and comfortable boot that will mould and age with the wearer. The leather is hand finished in house. The sole is Mckay welted with a double midsole for durability and support and the black Vibram Tuscany rubber outsole offers good grip for various terrains. These boots come with a 3mm removeable innersole. For those with a high instep, it may require removing the innersole completely (there'll still be a heel pad underneath your heel for comfort) or alternatively remove this to wear your thicker socks.
Style: Round toe Gusset boot. This Smith Boot is our take on the classic Australian Chelsea work boot. The elastic sits lower than our dress Jack Gusset boots, so it's able to be worn more casually with pants and even shorts.
Upper: Australian raised and tanned wholecut bovine leather upper with full leather calf lining. Colour is Cocoa. Upper is stitched with a contrast stitch and dark brown elastic.
Sole: McKay Welt (blake rapid) construction. Veg-tan double mid-sole, hand-waxed raw edge finish, black Vibram Tuscany rubber outsole with a stacked leather heel.
Last Milton E fitting. The Milton last offers a more rounded generous toe box than our Jack Gusset Boot and it is designed to allow for a padded innersole (provided with boots) or thick socks (by removing the innersole).
The Q-Jumper range is currently available in sizes 4-4.5, 12-14 AU on our Milton E fitting last (including half sizes, but not 13.5). They are a unisex style, but the sizes are listed in men's sizing (for reference, the conversion is usually men's 8 = roughly ladies 10 AU). If you fall between 5-11.5 in your sizing and are after the same configuration, you should be looking at the Smith Original Boot.
Please note this boot is not exchangeable like our Originals in the instance that the size you chose is incorrect.

Fitting Guide:
Made on our Milton E fitting last, which has the same toe shape as our Cameron but is deeper to allow for a 3mm padded innersole (a removable padded innersole that comes with the boots).
These are a snug fit to get on, yet should feel generous at the toe. Removing the innersole will allow for thicker socks, higher insteps or mild orthotics (dependent on foot shape).
We'd typically find customers wear a half size down in this boot (the same fit as our Gordons with the Gordon or Cameron last) from their typical size in our Jack Gusset Dress boot. The Milton last measures and fits similarly to the Cameron last. The main difference between the Cameron last is a boot last and the Milton last is a shoe last. However if you have a high instep or prefer to wear thicker socks with this sort of boot, you will probably find you wear the same size as your dress (Jack Gusset) boots, or you may need to remove the 3mm padded innersole to give yourself more room depth-wise. If you remove the innersole, you'll still have some padding at the heel like the rest of our boots do.
As some sizing examples, Jess is a 14 in the Cameron E fitting for his Gordon boots and fits the same size for the Smith Boot with thicker socks, but he removes the padding completely. It fits more firmly at his instep as there's no adjustment with no lacing.
Grace fits a size 8 Charlie last D fitting and fits the size 6 Milton E fitting last in the Smith Boot.
Krystina fits a size 9 Charlie last D fitting and fits the size 7 Milton E fitting last in the Smith Boot with her same thick socks, or the 6.5 with her thinner socks and padding removed.
David is a size 8.5 in his Gordon boots on the Cameron last, but has a higher than normal instep and preferred the fit of the size 9 in the Smith Boot with his explorer socks and padding left inside. Alternatively he could probably wear the size 8.5 with the padding removed or have it made 3mm deeper again to fit the padding (option to make deeper only available in the Heritage range).
