Some people are curious as to the differences between our two main gusset boots: The Jack Gusset and the Smith Work boot.
We thought a picture tells a thousand words.
The two left hand sided boots are our Jack Gusset Boot, the first on the left in the Cambridge (8181) almond toe last. It has a slight rounded taper.
The middle boot is the Jack Gusset boot in the Stanley (8534) chiselled toe last. It has a slightly squared off end and is what most people would know as what they expect in an RM's style.
The boot on the right is our Smith Work Boot in the Milton rounded toe last. This is the rounder of all three so typically would appear the more casual. It also has a 3mm allowance for extra depth already on the last so that there is padding included inside the boot (this is an option you can choose for our Jack Gusset boot in the Heritage range only). This Milton toe shape is the same as the Cameron toe shape (used in our Gordon Boots) from the birds eye view.
Please note the construction method used on all these three examples pictured is the McKay Welt/Blake Rapid sole.
